DEXTER

"Dexter" is a psychological thriller TV series about a forensic blood spatter analyst, Dexter Morgan, who leads a double life as a vigilante serial killer. The series is based on the novel series by Jeff Lindsay.

Dexter lives by a strict code instilled in him by his foster father, Harry, who recognized his son's sociopathic tendencies and trained him to use them for good by targeting and killing other serial killers who have escaped justice. Dexter must balance his "normal" life as a brother, boyfriend, and colleague with his secret life as a killer.

Throughout the series, Dexter navigates various personal and professional challenges, including his relationships with his adoptive sister Debra, his on-and-off again girlfriend Rita, and his colleagues at the Miami Metro Police Department. He also faces off against other dangerous serial killers and criminal masterminds, including the Ice Truck Killer, the Trinity Killer, and the Doomsday Killer.

The series explores themes of identity, morality, and the nature of justice, as Dexter struggles to reconcile his own dark impulses with his desire to be a better person. The show is known for its gripping suspense, complex characters, and its exploration of the darker aspects of the human psyche.

"Dexter" aired for eight seasons on Showtime from 2006 to 2013, and a revival season is set to air in late 2021.
